Advertising
The Whidbey Marketplace and Community Journal is an advertiser supported publication. With a current circulation of over 28,500 homes on Whidbey Island, it is the most widely circulated publication of its kind. In an effort to benefit the Whidbey Island market place, the Whidbey Marketplace and Community Journal does not accept advertising from off-island businesses, allowing for an exclusively Whidbey Island publication.
Discounts
Insertion Rate Discounts
Insertion Rate Discounts allow savings to the advertiser for maintaining a commitment of a predetermined number of advertisements. Available options are 6-time (6x) rates, 13-time (13x) rate, and 26-time (26x) rates. If an advertiser commits to an insertion rate via a contract, they are entitled to that rate on all ad sizes. Restrictions apply.
Pick Up Discounts
If a contracted display advertiser reruns a past ad with no changes, they are entitled to a 10% discount based on current rates. Pick up discounts are not available for directory or classified advertising.
Non-Profit Discounts
Non-Profit organizations receive 10% off all advertising rates (excluding classifeds). Proof of non-profit status may be required.

Advertisements do not change throughout the duration of the contract. If changes need be made, a minimum charge of $25 is applicable. New clients will be charged half of the full contractual amount due before the first publication date, after which invoicing will be on a monthly basis. Established clients will be invoiced monthly.

Classified Display Advertising
Included in the Free Classifieds is an allocated area for Whidbey Island Service ads, where these ads are located. Great placement at a great cost.
All ad rates are per insertion, meaning the prices in the tables below reflect the cost every time an ad runs. All advertisements run consecutively. Advertisements do not change throughout the duration of the contract. If changes need be made, a minimum charge of $25 is applicable (maximum $50). New clients will be charged half of the full contractual amount due before the first publication date, after which invoicing will be on a monthly basis. Established clients will be invoiced monthly.
